This guide will walk you through the installation and setup of the Windows Easy Transfer Software.

To setup your software follow these steps:

1. Place the CD into the CD ROM Drive on the XP Computer.
2. The software will Extract and Begin installing the Easy Transfer software automatically. This is not the PC Sync (lap link) software. Click on Next to begin the software installation.
3. Click “I Agree” to the license agreement.
4. The program will begin to install.
5. Click Finish to close out the Installer.

Connecting the cable

1. Connect the Cable to the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Computer. The cable will install automatically.
2. After the installation, a window will appear asking what you would like to do.

3. Select Transfer files and settings using Windows Easy Transfer and click OK, the Windows Easy Transfer window will open.
4. Before you continue using the software, connect the Easy Transfer Cable to the Windows Vista machine.
5. Connect the Easy Transfer Cable to an available USB port on the Windows Vista computer.
6. The computer will automatically detect and install the Belkin Easy Transfer cable automatically.
7. Just as with the Windows XP machine an Auto Play menu will open. Click on Transfer files and settings using Windows Easy Transfer.

Using the Windows Easy transfer Software

1. You will now see a welcome screen on both computers. Click next on both computers.

2. Next you will see a screen on the Windows XP machine asking if we want to use an Easy Transfer Cable to transfer the files.

3. Next the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard will detect both computers.

4. Once the Windows Easy Transfer Wizard detects both computers, it will ask you what you would like to transfer.

5. Select All user accounts, files, and settings. If you wish to specific which drive to use as your destination driver please choose the advanced option.

6. The next screen will show you what folders you will transfer as well as the total size of the transfer.
