Missing wininet.dll

Missing wininet.dll is becoming an issue due to spyaxe infection. Here is how to restore it without the XP cd.

Warning: The system may lock up a few times or give error several times during this procedure. Just keep trying, it will work.

1. At the blank desktop, press CTRL+ALT+DEL.

Task manager should open

2. On the Applications tab, click the New Task button.

The Create New Task window should open.

3. Click the Browse button.

4. Browse to the i386 directory. IMPORTANT: In the File type window at

the bottom of the page, change this to All Files. Customer will have to scroll far right to find it.

5. Find the wininet.dll. Right click and choose copy.

6. Browse to the window\system32 directory. . IMPORTANT: In the File type window at the bottom of the page, change this to All Files.

7. Press CRTL+V to paste. (right-click paste is NOT an option)

8.Make sure wininet.dll appears, then click Cancel in the bottom right.

9. Close the Create New Task window.

10.Click the New Task button again. In the Create New Task window, type explorer.exe and click OK.

This should bring the desktop back.
